Music and Music Tuition

Music is an integral part of the College curriculum and to the education of students. They are given the opportunity to gain an appreciation of music and create, perform, and respond to its different genres. The skills, knowledge, and habits acquired through the study of music aim to enrich students’ lives. Through these experiences, students strive to build positive personal relationships with others, preparing them to live and work in a culturally diverse society.

The Instrumental lessons program

This presents the opportunity for students to engage in a one on one private instrument lesson with a specialist music teacher. Lessons take place here at the College for a period of half an hour per week.

Currently the College is offering lessons for the following instruments – Vocals, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums and Piano/Keyboard.

Musical

O’Loughlin Catholic College made its musical come back in 2018 showcasing Disney’s Mulan Jr. This was the College’s first production in nearly 10 years. The cast and production crew were a combination of students from year 7 -12, it was a huge success and a lot of fun. In 2019, we continued the Disney tradition and put on the best musical show ever with Disney’s Aladdin Jr. Every show was sold out making it another highly successful event and a highlight for the year.

Being part of a musical production is not just about singing and dancing. It is an amazing opportunity and worthwhile experience for anyone who is looking to challenge themselves, be part of a team or is wanting to be involved in the school community. The students who dared to be the best they could be, not only created an amazing show, they formed friendships that will last a lifetime. With on and off stage roles, the school’s musical program is the best peer support package that the College has on offer. Not to mention, we get to put on a fantastic show to the school community.
